The site includes an arena, theatre, meeting rooms, and exhibit halls. The Peoria Civic Center has a seating capacity of 9,919 for hockey and football, 11,433 for basketball and 12,036 for concerts. The exhibit hall separately has a seating capacity of 7,265 people. It also consists of a ballroom that has a seating capacity of 6,500 people, and a theater with a seating capacity of 2,224 people. It underwent renovation in 1992.
It is owned by the City of Peoria and is operated by SMG. The architect Philip Johnson designed the Peoria Civic Center.
