The resort is under the ownership of Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, whereas Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment operate it. The venue is designed in a belle époque theme. The entire construction cost of the project was $1 billion. It is said to be one of the most prominent features of the Niagara skyline. The site where the resort now stands was once the transformer station building for the Ontario Power Company.
The main entrance of the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort is a water feature called 'The Teslatron.' During the first few years of its opening and functioning, the water featured nightly displays along with perfect audio and lighting. The casino floor of the resort features 200,000 sq ft of space.
