Ziwe Fumudoh Information
Originally from Nigeria, Ziwerekoru "Ziwe" Fumudoh now resides in the United States, where he works as a writer and stand-up comedian. Fumudoh was born in the United States to parents who fled Nigeria's civil war and settled in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Fumudoh received his diploma from Phillips Academy, located in Andover, Massachusetts, in 2010. She graduated from Northwestern in 2014 with a degree in radio, television, and film, a major in African American studies, and a minor in poetry.
During the summer between her junior and senior years of college, Fumudoh interned at Comedy Central, contributing to shows like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. In the last year of her college career, she interned at The Onion and attended iO Improv workshops. She began her career in screenwriting after college, joining the team of The Rundown alongside Robin Thede.
Fumudoh has been a regular performer at Union Hall in Brooklyn for her show Pop Show, in which she presents her creative pop music. In other words, Fumudoh has provided Stephen Colbert with jokes. Since December 2013, she has been a staff writer and contributor of stories and videos to The Onion. Hysteria was a podcast produced by Crooked Media in 2018, and Fumudoh was a co-host. When Kamala Harris was added to Our Cartoon President in 2019, Fumudoh provided her voice. She also wrote the third season's "Senate Control" episode.
