Trailer Park Boys Information
Trailer Park Boys is a Canadian mockumentary TV series that Mike Clattenburg created. It was a continuation of the 1999 film of the same title by Clattenburg. The show follows the group’s misadventures of trailer park residents. Some were ex-convicts living in fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It premiered on April 22, 2001, on Showcase. It also ran for seven seasons originally before concluding with a one-hour special on December 7, 2008. The series has also spawned three new films, including The Movie (October 6, 2006), Countdown to Liquor Day (September 25, 2009), and Don’t Legalize It (April 18, 2014).
Mike Smith, John Paul Tremblay, and Robb Wells are the actors who respectively played the role of Bubbles, Julian, and Ricky in 2013. The rights were also purchased to the show from the original producers, and they even created their internet streaming network named “Swearnet.” Swearnet even co-produced the first new show episodes with Netflix from March 2014. On March 31, 2019, an animated spinoff series premiered.
Smith also revealed that filming had begun on another season in October 2019. It was announced in December 2020 that it would be entitled Trailer Park Boys: Jail. The season premiered on Swearnet on January 1, 2021.
