Elizabeth Stamatina "Tina" Fey (May 18, 1970) is an American producer, comedian, writer, actress, and playwright. She rose to fame as a writer and performer on Saturday Night Live (1997-2006) and as the creator of the comedic shows 30 Rock (2006-2013, 2020) and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015-present) (2015–2020).
Fey debuted in the comedy world as a cast member of The Second City, an improv group based in Chicago. She began working at SNL as a writer before being promoted to head writer and performer. She is best known for her satirical depiction of Sarah Palin, the vice presidential nominee for the Republican Party in 2008, which she has developed throughout her guest appearances on the show.
Fey is also known for her work on some of the top films, including Sisters (2015), Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (2016), Soul (2020), and A Haunting in Venice (2023).
Maggie Moore(s), a black comedy film starring Fey and Jon Hamm (directed by John Slattery), was released in 2023. The same year, she portrayed Ariadne Oliver, a made-up novelist, in A Haunting in Venice. It is a mystery film directed by Kenneth Branagh. In May of 2023, she made her voice acting debut as Dr. Farrah Braun in the Netflix animated comedy series Mulligan.
Fey has been honored with many awards and nominations, including nine Primetime Emmys, three Golden Globes, five SAGs, and seven WGAs. Fey was the youngest person ever to win the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, which she did in 2010.
