Lewis wrote the novel, and it is known for inaugurating The Chronicles of Narnia. Le Clanché du Rand is the writer of the one-act play for two actors. It was published by Dramatic Publishing of Woodstock, Illinois, in 1989. This company now licenses out the rights to the play worldwide. The dramatization falls in the genre of one-act adaptation, having first premiered in 1989. The main characters include Lucy, White Witch, others Peter, and Aslan.
Off-Broadway at St. Luke’s Theatre, Julia Beardsley O’Brien directs this mega-production, and Lila Neiswanger manages the stage. Rockford Sansom and Abigail Taylor-Sansom are featured in the current cast in NYC. In 2013, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe’s production, directed by Jessa Berkner, was presented by Marin Theatre Company in Mill Valley, CA, featuring Reggie White and Elena Wright.
In 2014, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was listed as part of the 2014-2015 season of the South Carolina Children’s Theater (Greenville, SC) touring roster. Two years later, Adrian Mitchell carried out the dramatization for the Stratford Festival, directed by Tim Carroll.
