Sesame Street Live Information
Sesame Street is a children's television series adapted for live performance by Roundroom Live with the permission of Sesame Workshop, a presentation known as Sesame Street Live. Founder Vincent Egan established the VEE Corporation in March 1980 to create a live-character program reminiscent of Sesame Street. He has experience working with the Ice Follies tour, which included a Muppet part.
In September 1980, the Metropolitan Sports Center in Bloomington, Minnesota, hosted the inaugural Sesame Street Live performance for five sold-out days. VEE lost profits in Bloomington due to underwhelming attendance at the following five sites.
Since the nature of the program was not explicitly stated in the promotional materials, Egan reasoned that it needed to be clearer among consumers in those markets. After swiftly expanding to two shows in 1981–1982, VEE added a 3rd in 1982–1983, both based in Australia. There were just two touring Sesame Street Live events throughout the 1983–1984 and 1988–1989 seasons.
After Blue Star Media, LLC bought VEE Corporation on April 1, 2015, with Egan staying on as a consultant, the two companies merged to become VStar Entertainment Group later that year.
