Ronald Dee White (December 18, 1956) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and author born in Fritch, Texas. He is best known for being one of the original members of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. His book "I Had the Right to Remain Silent, But I Didn't Have the Ability" became the New York Times best-seller list, and he earned the nickname "Tater Salad."
Blue Collar Comedy Tour, which White was a member of from January 2000 to March 2003, sold out in over 90 locations across the United States and made over $15 million. The tour included Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy.
Organica Music Group (OMG) is a record company founded by Ron White and producer Michael Blakey in 2010. They support both new and known artists. OMG stated that it will distribute any future DVDs or CDs by White.
Texas lawmakers officially recognized Ron White with a "Ron White Day" proclamation on April 27, 2009. White received the "Patriot Award" from the Armed Forces Foundation in March 2009 for his efforts to raise money for injured service members. In addition, he performed at fundraisers for Hurricane Katrina victims. In 2007 & 2014, he received a nomination for a Grammy for Best Comedy Album.
White stated in November 2015 that he would be an independent candidate for president in 2016. White was featured in the Showtime series Roadies as Phil, the seasoned road manager for the fictitious Staton-House Band, in 2016.
