Pete Davidson (November 16, 1993) is an American writer, actor, and comedian born in New York City. He dropped out of college after just one semester to focus on becoming a comedian. At sixteen, a group of friends dared him to do stand-up in a Staten Island bowling alley. Among these pals was future major league baseball player Matthew Festa.
The Netflix show I Slept With Joey Ramone, based on the biography of the same name by the late singer's brother, starred Davidson as Joey Ramone in April 2021. Davidson's duties extend beyond executive production to include co-writing. He played Blackguard in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, released in theaters in August 2021. On May 6, 2022, he voiced Marmaduke in a Netflix animated film.
Shortly before the season 47 finale, Davidson declared that this would be his last season on Saturday Night Live due to his lengthy absences during the season. On May 4, 2023, he debuted as the lead in Bupkis, a new series from Peacock. Davidson appeared in three major action series films in 2023. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, he played Phlektik; in Fast X, he was Bowie; and in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, he voiced Mirage.
