Melvin James Brooks is an actor, comedian, filmmaker, composer, and dramatist. Having written and directed several popular broad farces and parodies during a seven-decade career, Brooks is recognized for Acclaimed several times; he is among 19 performers who have won the EGOT. Starting his career as a comedian and writer for Sid Caesar's variety show Your Show of Shows from 1950 to 1954, Brooks.
From 1964 until she died in 2005, Brooks married actress Anne Bancroft. Renowned author and actor Max Brooks is their son; in his 2006 book World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, Brooks has also provided the voice for animations. In the animated feature Robots (2005), he portrayed Bigweld, the master inventor; in the subsequent animated film Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014), he had a cameo as Albert Einstein.
Mel Brooks released his biography All About Me! In 2021, it was revealed on October 18, 2021, that Brooks created and produced History of the World, Part II, a follow-up Hulu TV series on the 1981 film. As the series' narrator, he was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance.
