Matilda - The Musical Jr Information
Matilda the Musical is an American musical. It is based upon the children’s novel of the same name published in 1988 by Roald Dahl. Dennis Kelly adapted the Musical, whereas Tim Minchin produced the music and lyrics. Matilda was directed for the stage by Matthew Warchus. Initially, the Musical had run staged by the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) from November 2010 to January 2011 at Stratford-upon-Avon. On November 24, 2011, the Musical received its West End premiere at Cambridge. The Broadway premiere took place at the Shubert Theatre in April 2013.
Matilda the Musical was a huge success, receiving widespread recognition and box-office fame as well. The Musical won five awards at the 2013 Tony Awards that included the Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical presented to Dennis Kelly.
In September 2011, the album was released on CD that the original Stratford company recorded. The CD featured some of the hidden spoken tracks.
