Martin Fitzgerald Lawrence (April 16, 1965) is an American actor and comedian. He became a household name in the '90s when he launched his acting career in Hollywood. He debuted acting in the 1987–1988 television series What's Happening Now!! as Maurice Warfield. Martin, the Bad Boys franchise, a Fox television comedy series, featured him prominently.
Lawrence and Kelsey Grammer were in talks to feature in a Lionsgate Television comedy in January 2013. The two performers were attorneys in Chicago who met during their worst day in court despite their very different backgrounds. Canceled after only one season due to low ratings, the show debuted on August 4, 2014.
Bad Boys for Life, the third installment of the Bad Boys trilogy, was released in 2020 and starred Lawrence and Will Smith once again as Detective Marcus Burnett. The picture made $112 million in its first weekend, which is a lot of money. Lawrence made his serious acting debut in 2022's Mindcage, which also starred John Malkovich and Melissa Roxburgh. The Hollywood Walk of Fame officially recognized Lawrence on April 20, 2023.
