The Little Mermaid Jr. is a stage musical that is based on the animated 1989 Disney film of the same name. The musical was produced by Disney Theatrical and followed the theme of the classic story, about a mermaid who dreams of the world that exists above the sea and gives up her sweet voice to find love. The actual book is written by Doug Wright, lyrics by Howard Ashman (written for the film), music by Alan Menken, and additional lyrics by Glenn Slater.
The Little Mermaid Jr. is about underwater settings and stories about aquatic characters that require unusual technical designs and strategies to make some gliding movements for the actors. The Little Mermaid Jr. was first made available by the company Music Theater International and Disney Theatrical Productions to license.
