Laurie Kilmartin Information
Laurie Kilmartin (July 16, 1965) is an American writer and comedian. She was born in San Jose, California. She swam for U.C.L.A. and went there to study. In 1987, Kilmartin started doing stand-up comedy as a contract performer in the Pacific Northwest. Since then, she has done stand-up on shows such as Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Premium Blend on Comedy Central, Showtime, Verdict with Dan Abrams, Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld, and The World Stands Up.
The Aspen, Edinburgh, and Montreal Comedy Festivals featured her performances. Kilmartin released a CD in 2009 titled Five Minutes to Myself that had unaired content. In addition to answering the age-old question of "why is God such a prick in the Old Testament," the CD discusses topics such as immigrant lovers and unwanted Mexican babies. One of the "Top Ten Comedy CDs of 2009" by Punchline Magazine was Five Minutes to Myself.
Seeso premiered her stand-up comedy special, 45 Jokes About My Dead Dad, on December 29, 2016; the show deals with cancer, hospice care, death, grief, and funerals. On NBC's Last Comic Standing, Kilmartin made it to the show's Top 10 in season 7. In 2011, The Huffington Post named her one of 53 favorite female comedians.
