Kevin George Knipfing (April 26, 1965) is a well-known American actor and comedian who goes by the stage name Kevin James. James was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 2006 for his performance as Doug Heffernan on the CBS comedy The King of Queens (1998–2007), for which he won the award. For his work on the CBS comedy Kevin Can Wait (2016–2018), he was nominated for a People's Choice Award in 2017.
On March 27, 2010, James hosted the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. The following year, Kevin "Not-Quite-As-Good-As-Me" James was nominated to join the "Arm Fart Hall of Fame" by host Jack Black. In the audience vote, Josh Duhamel defeated him and another contender, Kaley Cuoco.
James co-starred as the lead in the MMA comedy Here Comes the Boom in 2012 and in Jeff Wadlow's True Memoirs of an International Assassin, which debuted on Netflix on November 11. James was also featured in the 2017 Netflix film Sandy Wexler alongside Adam Sandler.
James returned his November 27, 2017 YouTube account in February of 2020. He was a viral sensation with over 535,000 followers and 28 million total views by June 2020.
In the upcoming 2020 thriller film Becky, James had a pivotal role. In another upcoming 2022 biopic, Home Team, he played NFL head coach Sean Payton. James' next picture, an action comedy called Guns Up, was scheduled for release in May 2023. Edward John Drake served as the film's director.
