Established in 1998, Kentucky Dance Theatre has grown to become the preeminent professional dance group in Lexington. The Lexington Opera House, Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center, Moondance Amphitheater, and surrounding communities like Prestonsburg's Mountain Arts Center, Morehead State University's Button Auditorium, and Somerset, Kentucky's Center for Rural Development are just a few of the places where this organization's Board of Directors has put performances.
Students of all ages can get structured classical ballet instruction at the KBT Academy, an essential organization component. Our mission is to serve as a professional ballet company in residence in Lexington and Central Kentucky, enriching the arts, culture, and education through performances of original works, classical ballet, and educational programs. They will also tour and host school shows to reach Central and Eastern Kentucky communities, furthering their artistic and educational outreach.
