Jeanne Swanner Robertson is an American motivational speaker and humorist who is also a former physical education teacher and Miss North Caroline in the year 1943. Jeanne Robertson was born and raised in Graham, North Carolina, who was named as Miss North Carolina at the tender age of 19. Later she went and was named Miss Congeniality in that year's Miss America competition. Using the funds she won from her beauty pageant, she self-financed herself to study physical education at Auburn University. She also joined Alpha Gamma Delta and played on their basketball team.
From a very young age, Jeanne Robertson knew that she had terrific public speaking skills, so she started her public speaking career. Jeanne Robertson started to gain nationwide attention as a humorist and speaker. In the year 1980, Jeanne Robertson was described as a Certified Speaking Professional by the National Speakers Association (NSA) and served as the association's president in 1985. She is also an award-winning Toastmaster.
