James Austin Johnson (July 19, 1989) is an American actor and comedian born in Nashville, Tennessee. He is known for impersonating Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, and is sometimes called "the best Trump impersonator." Johnson is now a member of the cast of the NBC sketch comedy television show Saturday Night Live, having joined the cast as a featured player for the 47th season of the show in 2021.
He plays both Donald Trump and Joe Biden on Saturday Night Live. Currently, Johnson is based out of New York City. Johnson's acting credits include movies like Blue Like Jazz and Hail, Caesar! and TV shows like Adam Ruins Everything, Better Call Saul and All Rise. Together with NFL veteran Peyton Manning, he filmed a commercial for DirecTV.
Johnson joined the cast of Saturday Night Live's 47th season in 2021, joining fellow newbies Aristotle Athari and Sarah Sherman. He played former President Donald Trump in the fifth episode of the season and current Vice President Joe Biden in the season premiere's cold open.
