Daniel James Howell (June 11, 1991) is an English author, presenter, YouTuber, and comedian. He was born in Wokingham, Berkshire. At 16, he got a job at Focus DIY and eventually moved on to Asda. When he was younger, he participated in the Wokingham Youth Theatre. Howell took a year off after graduating from The Forest School in 2009 to begin making videos for his channel.
The first video Howell ever posted to YouTube was named "HELLO INTERNET" and was published on October 16, 2009. Phil Lester and "some friends" pushed him to post films on the site. In addition, as of September 2020, his second channel, danisnotinteresting, boasts over 1.7 million subscribers and 72 million views. He's done hour-long live broadcasts every week on this channel and YouNow.
Howell and Lester teamed up to create The Super Amazing Project, a YouTube series for My Damn series, in which they explored paranormal phenomena. The two decided in October 2014 to stop working on the project and instead devote their time to their Radio 1 broadcast. In 2012, he took first place in Rhett and Link's "SuperNote" YouTube contest. Becoming YouTube, a monthly video series by Benjamin Cook, also featured him.
