Dane Cook (March 18, 1972) is an American film actor and standup comedian. His ability to relate stories for an extended period has made him a household name in standup comedy. Dane Cook credits his parents with instilling in him a great sense of humor and the innate ability to persuade others.
Cook's life's work as a standup comedian is to make people laugh, and he'll go to any lengths to do this. He doesn't care if he comes across as a retard, a buffoon, filthy, or humorous during his standup acts so long as he makes the crowd laugh uncontrollably.
In 2006, his following grew, being one of the first comedians to use a personal website and MySpace to establish a significant fan base. Since 1997, Cook has been active in the film industry as an actor. Some films he has acted in include Mystery Men, Waiting..., Dan in Real Life, Employee of the Month, Good Luck Chuck, Mr. Brooks, and My Best Friend's Girl.
Cook also voiced the main character, Dusty Crophopper, in the 2013 and 2014 computer-animated sports movies Planes and Planes: Fire & Rescue. Following Andrew Dice Clay, he sold out the massive Madison Square Garden venue. Cook performed at the Hard Rock in Northfield Park, Ohio, in May 2018.
Finally, at the end of 2018, Cook announced his first major standup tour since 2013's "Under Oath" Tour with the "Tell It Like It Is" Tour. The tour kicked off in Huntington, New York, in February 2019 and wrapped up in Los Angeles, California, in November.
