Beetlejuice - The Musical Information
The musical Beetlejuice features a book by Scott Brown. Eddie Perfect wrote the music and lyrics. It was inspired by the movie of the same name from 1988. Betelgeuse (after the star; the word is pronounced and commonly written "Beetlejuice") is a deceitful bio-exorcist ghost summoned by repeating his name three times.
The plot follows a departed couple as they try to harass the new inhabitants of their previous house. Lydia, a little girl, is one of the new residents. She is grieving the loss of her mother and struggling to cope with her absent father.
Before its April 25, 2019, launch at the Winter Garden Theatre on Broadway, the musical held a preview performance at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, a subsidiary of the franchise owner, was the producer of the musical. The last performance occurred at the Winter Garden on March 10, 2020, due to the pandemic. A national tour of the United States of America began in December 2022, and the show reopened at the Marquis Theatre on Broadway on April 8, 2022, running through January 8, 2023.
