And That's Why We Drink (ATWWD) is a comedy show about true crimes and the supernatural that Christine Schiefer and Em Schulz made. The show's name was changed from "Eerie and Theory" to "And That's Why We Drink" during the creation process in response to a funny exclamation in a moment of frustration.
Since February 2017, production on the program has been underway. It has begun uploading video recordings of the program's audio recording sessions to its YouTube page since October 2019, and it updates on Sundays on many podcast platforms.
The show has been a smashing success since its debut, with over 80 million downloads and two successful live tours across North America.
Guests on ATWWD include members of the presenters' families and friends, Lisa Lampanelli, the comedian and Schiefer's aunt-in-law. The podcast has also done crossover episodes such as Wine and Crime, Morbid, and Sisterhood.
At the 23rd and 25th Annual Webby Awards in May 2019 and again in 2021, the podcast was named People's Voice for Best Comedy Podcast.
