Womens PGA Championship Information
The KPMG Women's PGA Championship, designated as the Women's PGA Championship for sponsorship purposes, is a professional golf tournament exclusively for women. It is one of the five majors played by the LPGA Tour and was first held in 1955. The Ladies European Tour does not consider it a major, just as it does not consider any of the three U.S. majors.
Several of the best courses in the U.S. could host the event because of the PGA of America's sponsorship. Until recently, the LPGA Championship was hosted annually at a fixed venue in Rochester, New York, by a title sponsorship deal with the Western New York-based grocery chain Wegmans.
The women's championships in 2022 and 2027 and the 2025 seniors were bestowed to the Congressional Country Club. It was a double win for Baltusrol Golf Club in 2023 and 2029 since they had previously hosted the men's championships in 2005 and 2016. Additionally, the event takes place at the Frisco, Texas, new home of the PGA of America.
