Virginia NHRA Nationals Information
The NHRA Drag Racing Series, of which the Virginia NHRA Nationals is a part, is a collection of races in which competitors in Top Fuel dragsters, Funny Cars, Pro Stock cars, and Pro Stock motorcycles compete for points. The NHRA Finals are the series' final event.
North Dinwiddie, Virginia, is home to Virginia Motorsports Park, a quarter-mile dragstrip where the Virginia NHRA Nationals are held. When it first opened in 1994, the strip could accommodate 23,000 people. The event features all four major styles of racing. The 2018 Virginia NHRA Nationals were held there for the first time. Top Fuel champion Steve Torrence won his fourth race to cap off a dominant year in the NHRA Camping Drag Racing Series. Courtney Force also has a Series victory, this time in the Funny Car division.
Tanner Gray won his second Pro Stock event of the season and the Series championship for the year. L.E. Tonglet triumphed as the Pro Stock Motorcycle champion. Steve Torrence would win the Top Fuel class at the 2019 Virginia Nationals and claim his second consecutive Series title. Andrew Hines also took first place in Pro Stock Motorcycle and won the Series.
