The University of Southern California is represented by USC Trojans football. Established in 1888, the Trojans are members of the Pac-12 Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Football Bowl Subdivision.
The team has almost 880 victories and 11 national titles, including seven from the two most prominent wire services (AP and Coaches'). USC has won 39 conference titles and gone unbeaten 13 times.

ESPN ranked USC as its best team of the decade (from 1996 to 2006) in July 2007, praising Carroll for leading the Trojans to a new level of success.
After five years at Oklahoma, Lincoln Riley was appointed the 30th head coach on November 28, 2021. He planned to work with two other rookie coaches this year. USC's recruiting class was rated no.65 among NCAA D1 schools as of February 28.
