USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Information
The U.S.A. Track & Field Outdoor Championships are the track and field national championships in the United States and are held annually by the U.S.A. Track & Field. 1876, when the New York Athletic Club (N.Y.A.C.) decided to host a national championship, the competition had a long and storied history—the former site of the New York Athletic Club's Spring and Fall Games. Track and field's first, second, and third national championships occurred at the seventh, eighth, and ninth Fall Games, respectively.
Mott Haven, New York, hosted the Amateur Championship of America (the forerunner to the National Amateur Athletic Association) from 1876 to 1878. The National Amateur Athletic Association was founded on April 22, 1879. The championships were run from 1879 through 1887 under the auspices of the National Association of Amateur Athletes of America (N.A.A.A.). George W. Carr was chosen N.A.A.A. president in 1879, followed by A. H. Curtis in 1880, 1881, and 1882, Gilbert H. Badeu in 1883, 1884, and 1885, and Walter Storm in 1887.
The 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Track and Field will be held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, from June 18-27, 2021: the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (U.S.O.P.C.) and the TrackTown U.S.A. The local Organizing Committee has released the modified competition schedule.
