USA Gymnastics Championship Information
Each year, the best gymnasts in the United States compete at the USA Gymnastics National Championships, the highest national competition for artistic gymnastics. Although USA Gymnastics was crowned national champions from 1963–1969, the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) was the sport's recognized regulating organization from 1970–1969.
In June 1963, Park Ridge, Illinois, hosted the first USA Gymnastics national championships. Since then, it has been held annually, typically over multiple summer days.
Simone Biles, who competed in the event from 2013 through 2023, won the women's and overall titles in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023. Sam Mikulak, who competed from 2013 through 2016 and again in 2018 and 2019, holds the record for most men's all-around titles with six. From 1996 through 2000, Blaine Wilson won five times in a row. In recent years, numerous businesses have sponsored the USA Gymnastics National Championships, thus renaming the competition in honor of its primary sponsor.
