Tulane Green Wave Football Information
Tulane University has represented Tulane Green Wave Football in American football since 1983. They played collegiate football against various opponents as American Athletic Conference (AAC) members. Tulane's home games were played at Yulman Stadium, a state-of-the-art stadium that can hold up to 30,000 fans.
The team's signature colors, olive green and sky blue, symbolize the school, and the team's mascot, "Riptide the Pelican," provides a fun and memorable element to every game day. Tulane's mascot captures the competitive nature of the school's sports teams.
They had respectable success against regional opponents in their first-ever season. In 1909, as a part of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA), they won their first conference title.
In December 2007, Tulane won the Hawaii Bowl, finishing another outstanding year. Their victory in this bowl game demonstrated their capacity to compete on a national level.
As of August 2013, the Green Wave competed against tough opponents in the American Athletic Conference (AAC), including UCF, Cincinnati, and Memphis. Tulane football entered a new era with this change.
