South Carolina Gamecocks Baseball Information
The South Carolina Gamecocks are the collegiate baseball club representing the University of South Carolina in the American Athletic Conference (ACC). Among the top collegiate baseball programs since 1970, South Carolina has made it to the post 34 times in the NCAA tournament, 11 times to the collegiate World Series, six times to the College World Series Finals, and won the national title in 2010 and 2011.
After Chad Holbrook resigned on June 6, 2017, Mark Kingston took over as head coach. Ray Tanner stepped down following the 2012 season to become USC's athletic director, and Holbrook was appointed his replacement. This comes after three straight trips to the national championship game, where they won the title back-to-back.
The Gamecocks won the most consecutive NCAA tournament games (22) and the most consecutive College World Series games (12) between 2010 and 2012. They also established a record for most consecutive victories in a single NCAA season.
With 29 straight home NCAA tournament victories in 2013, Carolina established a new record. Founders Park, where the squad plays their home games, debuted on February 21, 2009. In 2023, the Gamecocks secured third place in the nation with their fourteenth trip in the NCAA Division I Tournament's Super Regional round.
