Once a year, players from all over the globe gather at the Smite World Championship (SWC) to compete in the ultimate tournament for the online combat arena game Smite. January 3–7, 2018, was the 2018 Smite World Championship date. The SWC prize pool fell below $1 million for the first time, totaling $785,000. In the finals, the North American team eUnited, including Benji, Screammmmm, Venenu, Pandacat, and PolarBearMike, defeated the European squad RivaL.
For the first time in two years, the 2023 Smite World Championship took place in front of a live audience from January 14th to 16th, 2023. Arlington, Texas's Esports Stadium was the site of the SWC, marking the first time the tournament had ever been held outside of Georgia. The total prize money is now $415,000. Returning finalists, Tartarus Titans were defeated by the Camelot Kings. Becoming the first player to win the SWC in two separate roles, Libardo 'Jarcorr' López, an ADC for the Kings, became the 2022 SWC champion while playing solo laner for Leviathans.
