Santa Clara University's men's basketball team competes on the NCAA Division I level. Since its founding in 1952, the club has been a part of the West Coast Conference. Home games are played at the Leavey Center in Santa Clara, California. Herb Sendek, who has run the show at NC State and Arizona State, was their head coach before. Several current and former Santa Clara University basketball players have been All-Americans or have played in the NBA, and the school has a rich history of basketball success, having participated in eleven NCAA tournaments and six National Invitational Tournaments. The 2010–11 and 2012–13 teams were victorious in 2011's CollegeInsider.com Tournament and 2013's College Basketball Invitational, respectively. No other team has ever won both the CBI and the CIT but them.

Jalen Williams, the first Bronco, was taken in the NBA draft since Steve Nash was chosen twelfth overall in 2022 when Santa Clara made their first NIT appearance since the 1980s. The Golden State Warriors selected Brandin Podziemski with the 19th overall pick the following year.
