Sanderson Ford College Baseball Classic Information
The Sanderson Ford College Baseball Classic is an annual tournament in February at Surprise Stadium, which serves as the Spring Training Center for the Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers.
Typically, it takes place throughout two weekends and features games performed by four or five of the most talented teams in collegiate baseball. As a result of the fact that several teams are often from the north of the US, teams are allowed to compete against one another outside of their respective cold-weather home states.
Kansas State was one of the western powerhouses participating in the 2021 Sanderson Ford College Baseball Classic. Other western powerhouses included Gonzaga, New Mexico, and Oregon State Universities. During June, three of the four teams were able to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
The Beavers, Bulldogs, and Lobos all had several appearances in the classic in 2022 when Xavier and St. Mary's also joined the roster. Each of the two seasons began with a round-robin competition in the first week, in which all four teams competed against one another at least once. During the second weekend, Oregon State participated in a normal weekend series by playing against a team that was not a league member.
