Ryan Garcia Information

Boxer Ryan Garcia (August 8, 1998) is a professional boxer from the U.S. Under the WBC interim lightweight championship in 2021, he competed. At seven years old, García began boxing to represent the U.S. in the 2016 Olympics. In his amateur career, he won 15 national championships and compiled a record of 215–15. 

Garcia became a professional on June 9, 2016, at the tender age of 17. He defeated Edgar Meza via technical knockout in his professional boxing debut in Tijuana. Upon meeting with Golden Boy Promotions in November 2016, Garcia instantly signed on.

From 2018 to 2022, he trained with Eddy Reynoso, who is also associated with Canelo Alvarez and Oscar Valdez, at their San Diego, California facility. Garcia and Golden Boy Promotions re-upped their contract in September 2019 for another five years. There was a rescheduled meeting between Avery Sparrow and Garcia.

Golden Boy announced that Garcia would fight Francisco Fonseca at the Honda Center in Anaheim on February 14, 2020, on January 2, 2020. Garcia knocked out Fonseca in the first round with seven blows, including a lead left hook.

A bout between Javier Fortuna, a former Dominican WBA (Regular) super featherweight champion, and Garcia, who had just won the WBC interim lightweight championship, was confirmed by DAZN on April 13, 2021.
