River City Rodeo Information
Running over 70 years, River City Rodeo is a family-friendly festival. Along with everything cowboy, cowgirl, and country, the festival presents some of the best food in town. Even rodeo activities allow you to take your hand at roping a steer. River City Rodeo hosts continually fresh events such as barrel racing demos or trick roping contests.
The objectives of the Omaha Rodeo are to respect the local history and support families via educational means. For many years, Omaha's longest-running rodeo event has been sponsored by the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben Foundation. One of the many goals of the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben Foundation, which has been around since 1895, is to make sure that every kid has a chance to prosper and to improve the rural areas where they live.
This PRCA rodeo at the Ak-Sar-Ben Coliseum is held yearly and boasts several previous world champion cowboys participants. Originally designed in 1982 to honor rural culture, the rodeo has grown among the most attended events in River City throughout its thirty-year existence.
