Each year, the best rugby sevens players in the United States compete in the Premier Rugby Sevens (PR7s). The company's CEO and founder, Owen Scannell, established Premier Rugby Sevens in 2021. The League's first-ever championship game was played on October 9, 2021, at AutoZone Park in Memphis, Tennessee. The women's Loonies and men's Experts took home the inaugural titles. Live coverage of the tournament finals could be seen on FS2 in the United States and TSN in Canada.

Jon Prusmack Men's Championship and the Headliners took home the Kathy Flores Women's Championship as the first-ever United Champions.
Fubo Sports Network broadcasts every game of the 2022 Championship live. In December 2022, the LeagueLeague announced it would adopt a conference system and play a five-tournament circuit the following season. The teams would be divided between the Eastern and Western Conferences, and the tournaments would switch locations weekly.
