Premier Lacrosse League Information
The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) is an American professional field lacrosse league comprising eight clubs. Beginning on June 1, 2019, the league's first season consisted of a 14-week tour in 12 major market cities. American professional lacrosse player Paul Rabil and brother Mike Rabil started the league. Investors include The Raine Group, The Chernin Group, and Joe Tsai.
Voting for the finalists started on June 3, 2023, and the 26 finalists were revealed during the PLL All-Star Game 2023. Combining fan-voting, customer data, ticketing performance, and venue availability helped choose the finalists. The PLL also declared they would not be veering from the touring concept.
The eight teams' home towns were revealed on November 14; the Denver Outlaws replaced Chrome Lacrosse Club. As the league continues to draw in casual viewers, Rabil sees the second of three possible phases in the PLL's growth as the affiliation of teams with geographic areas. Rabil noted that Phase 3 may follow MLL's conventional home-and-away pattern and the PLL holding sites in every one of these markets.
