NHRA Texas Fall Nationals Information
The Texas NHRA Fall Nationals is a drag racing event hosted at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis. The Texas Motorplex features a quarter-mile drag strip and is an ultra-modern racing complex. The stadium-style seating and concrete construction of the first "super track" for the National Hot Rod Association make for an exciting racing experience. In January of 1986, work began on what would become Texas Motorplex, and by September of that year, it was all set for the public.
The NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series includes the Texas NHRA Fall Nationals. Top Fuel, Funny Cars, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycles, the four classes that make up the NHRA's top level, all race in the Texas Fall Nationals.
Regarding spectator amenities, the Texas Motorplex has been a frontrunner among drag racing venues. Moreover, the FallNationals has witnessed some memorable moments in the history of the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series.
The Champions Club, a permanent hospitality section at the Texas Motorplex that provides VIP services to spectators during the Texas NHRA Fall Nationals, was added by the ownership group in 1997. In 2004, the tower suites at Texas Motorplex added balcony seats, giving spectators a bird's-eye view of the action from the start.
In the 1997 Fall Nationals, Cory McClenathan broke the 320 mph barrier, making history. In 1999, Tony Schumacher won his first national NHRA event at the Fall Nationals. That same year, he also won the season title.
