All the money raised goes into the players' pension funds, and the champions get $1,000,000 to donate to their favorite charity.
While the actual midway point of the regular season is typically one or two weeks earlier, the NHL All-Star Game, which takes place in late January or early February, signifies the symbolic midpoint. From 2007 until 2020, it occurred in the latter part of January. It was held in early February 2022 after being postponed that year because of the pandemic. Ever since then, the All-Star Game has been held in early February.
The National Hockey League (NHL) announced the merger of the former system's fantasy draft with the current four-team, three-on-three structure on November 27, 2023. The league chose Each club's captain using a system combining fan voting and the NHL Hockey Operations Department. The rosters for each team were determined through a draft by the players.
