National Bank Open Information
Every year, Americans compete in the Canadian Open. The National Bank Open, presented by Rogers, is the name given to the competition. The National Bank Open will now be known as the National Bank Open, thanks to a 10-year sponsorship deal signed by Tennis Canada on February 2, 2021. The event's presenting sponsor is still Rogers. The ATP Tour's Masters 1000 event for men is held here, while the WTA Tour's WTA 1000 event for women is held there. It is the second-oldest tennis tournament in history (after only Wimbledon). Outdoor hard courts serve as the venue for the competition.
The two events were previously held during separate weeks in the season of July–August; as of 2011, they are now contested during the same week in August. The cities of Montreal and Toronto host the festivities alternately each year. The men's tournament has been held in Montreal in even-numbered years since 2021, while the women's tournament has been held in Toronto and vice versa in odd-numbered years. Sobeys Stadium in Toronto and IGA Stadium in Montreal are used for the tournaments.
