The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) is a stock car racing series previously known as the NASCAR Winston Modified Tour and NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series. The series is under the ownership of NASCAR in the Modified Division and operated by the same. This prototype-based stock cars race was inaugurated in 1985. The events for NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour mainly take place in the northeastern of the US.
The NASCAR Modified Division was first created in December 1947 as the major part of NASCAR's creation. On February 15, 1948, its first sanctioned event took place on Daytona Beach's beach course. The modern-day tour later took place with 29 races in 1985. Whelen Engineering took up the sponsorship of the event in 2005. The series is known for its strong regional following.
