Monster Truck Nationals Information
The Monster Truck Nationals, sometimes referred to as Monster Nationals, began as a monster truck series in 2002 and is currently produced by Family Events. Mike West and George Eisenhart, who both worked behind the scenes for Thunder Nationals, initially ran it. George's incident led to the sale of the series to Family Events. With a few programs in the summer, the series runs every winter.
Although the performance has occasionally appeared in bigger stadiums and even outdoor carnival events, it has largely stuck to competing in smaller arenas. Typically, each event's lineup will remain the same for that year. The lineups have consistently included Bigfoot 4x4 and Hall Bros. Racing. Except for a few solo trucks, most of the other vehicles that competed were team-based. Several teams fielded numerous trucks in the league, including Team Beast, Hoffman Motorsports, Big Dawg Racing, and Heavy Hitter Racing.
Unlike most other leagues, Monster Truck Nationals events include free pit parties. The competitions for wheelies, donuts, racing, freestyle, and long jumps follow the same format as Thunder Nationals. In 2019, the tour took a brief break because the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live tour had taken over many locations where the Monster Truck Nationals had previously taken place. However, the tour did include performances in Du Quoin, IL; Corbin, KY; and Madison, WI. Missoula, Montana, and Pleasanton, California, are also on the tour's schedule.
