Monster Energy Cup Information
The Monster Energy Cup is an American exhibition race hosted by the AMA Supercross Championship occurring each fall. The event started in 2011, and since then it has been held at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. The Monster Energy Cup consists of three 10-lap Main Events for 4-stroke 450cc motorcycles. The same 22 riders compete in all of the three events of the Monster Energy Cup.
The Monster Energy Cup uses the Olympic-style scoring where every rider who gets the lowest overall score is declared as a winner of the event. The event also allows junior and amateur divisions to compete.
The inaugural running of the exhibition was won by Ryan Villopoto,, who was the first one to score 1-1-1 for the prize in 2011. So far, other winners of Monster Energy Cup are Justin Barcia (2012) (2-1-2), James Stewart Jr. (2013) (8-1-1), Davi Millsaps (2014) (3-4-1), Ken Roczen (2015) (1-4-1), Eli Tomac (2016) (2-1-4), Marvin Musquin (2017) (1-1-1), Eli Tomac (2018) (1-1-1), and Adam Cianciarulo (2019) (2-2-1).
