Mississippi Braves Information
The Mississippi Braves, or M-Braves as they're known in the area, are a group of Minor League Baseball players hailing from Pearl, Mississippi, a Jackson suburb. This Southern League club is the Atlanta Braves' Double-A affiliate. After buying the Braves from Liberty Media in 2022, Diamond Baseball Holdings took over as owner and operator of the franchise.
The Braves were reassigned to Double-A South as part of MLB's 2021 Minor League Baseball system reorganization. With a record of 67–44, they were crowned champions of the Southern Division in 2021. Because of their perfect league record, they earned a spot in the postseason. The Braves won the Double-A South title with a 3-2 victory against the Montgomery Biscuits in the best-of-five series.
Dan Meyer was named the league's best manager, and Shea Langeliers was named the best MLB prospect. Following its reformation in 2021, the Double-A South was renamed to the Southern League in 2022. This was the original name of the regional circuit. With the 2024 season ending in Pearl, Mississippi, the Braves announced on January 9, 2024, that they would be moving to Columbus, Georgia, for the 2025 season.
