LA Bowl Information
The LA Bowl is an annual American NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) college football bowl game. On December 18, 2021, it started at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The Mountain West and Pac-12 leagues have ties to the bowl. The event is now known as the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl presented by Stifel, with late-night talk show star Jimmy Kimmel as the naming rights holder and Stifel as the game's presenting sponsor.
Under a five-year agreement, the Mountain West Conference and the Pac-12 Conference announced tie-ins for the new bowl in July 2019. The game will be released in February 2020. It pits the Mountain West champion against the Pac-12's fifth overall choice. The Mountain West champion had previously been guaranteed a spot in the Las Vegas Bowl. The owners of SoFi Stadium, StadCo LA, LLC, own and run the game.
As part of a naming rights arrangement with comedian and late-night talk show presenter Jimmy Kimmel, the game was renamed on June 16, 2021. "Never before has a bowl game been named after a human being (as far as I know, I didn't check)," Jimmy Kimmel said after announcing the renaming.
