Indy Eleven Information
Indy Eleven is a professional soccer team currently based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The team was founded in 2013, making its debut in the North American Soccer League in 2014. Indy Eleven plays all its home games at IU Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium. The stadium’s seating capacity is 10,524 that can be expanded to 12,111. On October 1, 2013, Kristian Nicht was announced as the first signing of the Indy Eleven. The team didn’t begin playing until the spring of 2014.
On April 12, 2014, Indy Eleven made its NASL regular-season debut against the Carolina Railhawks, where 11,048 people attended the game. Juergen Sommer was fired as manager on June 2, 2015, and Tim Regan was replaced in an interim capacity. In 2016, the team won the Spring Championship. On January 31, 2017, they also announced that they would seek to become a part of Major League Soccer during the league’s expansion efforts.
Indy Eleven was announced to enter the USL W-League on September 24, 2021, as part of the league’s inaugural season. Some of the players who play for the Indy Eleven include Jordan Farr, Patrick Seagrist, A. J. Cochran, Liam Doyle, Jared Timmer, Jeremiah Gutjahr, Ayoze, Kevin Partida, Carl Haworth, Gordon Wild, Neveal Hackshaw, Nick Moon, and several others. The current president of Indy Eleven is Greg Stremlaw, and Max Rogers is the team’s current head coach.
