The Harrisburg Senators, a Minor League Baseball team in the Eastern League and a Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, play its home games at FNB Field on City Island in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The stadium first opened in 1987 and now has a capacity of 6,187.
The city's "Senators" moniker comes from the fact that Harrisburg is the state capital of Pennsylvania and hence houses the state senate. The affiliate team also wears the Washington Nationals' primary colors—red, navy blue, gold, and white.
Harrisburg is the only team in Eastern League history to win four consecutive championships in 1987, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999. The 1993 Senators are among the top 100 best minor league squads ever.
