Golden Boy Promotions, Inc. is a Los Angeles, California-based American boxing promotion company. In 2002, Oscar De La Hoya—who won the world championship eight times across six divisions—created the firm, which used his moniker, "Golden Boy."
On May 5, 2007, Golden Boy promoted Floyd Mayweather's "super fight" with Oscar de la Hoya at the MGM Grand in Nevada. Mayweather won the fight via unanimous decision. It was the second-highest-earning bout in the sport's history and had the record for most pay-per-view buys at one point.
Additionally, on December 6, 2008, the firm and Top Rank co-sponsored the Dream Match between Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao.

Canelo Álvarez inked a contract with DAZN, a sports streaming network, for 11 fights in October 2018. His record is 50-1-2 with 34 knockouts. On December 15 that year, Álvarez debuted under the new contract by challenging Rocky Fielding (27-1, 15 KOs) for the WBA Super Middleweight World Championship in the famous Madison Square Garden. The agreement that Álvarez signed was the most costly athlete contract in sports history when it was signed.
