Evansville Thunderbolts Information
The Evansville Thunderbolts are one little league ice hockey team in the SPHL. The squad plays home games at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. This group took over for the ECHL's Evansville IceMen. After two seasons in charge, Pyle was hired as head coach of the ECHL's Atlanta Gladiators.
Ian Moran, a former NHL player, will take over for Mike Pyle as head coach for the upcoming 2018–19 season, while Adam Stio was the general manager. The team's general manager, Stio, was fired, and Moran resigned following a dismal season. They came in last. Longtime SPHL head coach and Patrick Kelly appointee Jeff Bes served as general manager for the 2019–20 season.
The 2019–20 SPHL season was cut short by the pandemic outbreak, which occurred while the Thunderbolts were on the verge of making the playoffs. The Thunderbolts were one of five SPHL clubs that skipped the 2020–21 season due to the ongoing limitations and effects of the virus. Before the 2021-22 season, the Thunderbolts recruited Bob McNamara to the general manager position.
