The Duke Blue Devils football team competes in American football for Duke University. The Blue Devils play in the Coastal Division of the ACC and the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the NCAA. The program has produced three Pro Football Hall of Famers, 53 All-Americans, and 10 ACC Players of the Year. It has won 17 conference titles (7 ACC and 10 Southern Conference). Their home field is Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham, North Carolina. The current head coach of the team is Mike Elko.
David Cutcliffe (2008–2021) led the Blue Devils to a period of success for the first time since the mid-1960s. With their victory against in-state North Carolina on November 30, 2013, Duke clinched their first Coastal Division championship.
The Blue Devils placed as high as 25 in the AP Poll, Coaches' Poll, and BCS rankings during the 2013 season. They came within four points of upsetting a powerful Texas A&M team in the 2013 Chick-fil-A Bowl.
In 2014, Duke had a 9-1 record, including a win against Georgia Tech (the eventual Orange Bowl champion) and a tight defeat to 15th-ranked Arizona State in the Sun Bowl. The Blue Devils finally defeated Indiana 44-41 in overtime in the 2015 Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium, and they repeated the feat in 2017 by defeating Northern Illinois in the Quick Lane Bowl.
