They play at Alumni Stadium in Dover, Delaware, which has a capacity of 7,193. The stadium first opened in 1957 as a multi-purpose facility that hosted football and track & field events. Under Collick's direction, the Hornets experienced their most successful season. He led the Hornets to their first MEAC championship in his first season. The Howard Bison faced Delaware State for the league championship in 1987. The Hornets were defeated 12–7, and Howard was crowned champion. After discovering that Howard had played with three ineligible players during the season, the championship was retrospectively awarded to Delaware State. As of 2019, Delaware has won all nine matchups. As of the 2020 season, Delaware State has won nine conference championships.
